Finding My Focus in Paris and Barcelona
A Summer of Inspiration.
Museum d’orsay in Paris
I'm back in the studio after a truly wonderful summer vacation exploring two incredible cities: Paris and Barcelona. This trip with my husband and daughter was more than just a vacation; it was a much-needed opportunity to step away from my usual routine and soak in new sights, sounds, and experiences.
Of course, as an artist, I couldn't help but be drawn to the masterpieces housed in the museums of both cities. Standing before iconic works, I was reminded of the power and longevity of art, the dedication of the masters, and the endless possibilities of color and form. While specific paintings certainly left their mark, the most profound inspiration came not from a single brushstroke, but from the overall experience of being immersed in such rich cultural tapestries.
More than the formal art itself, this trip offered me something invaluable: perspective. Stepping away from the demands of the studio allowed me to clear my head and truly reflect on my artistic journey. The vibrant energy of Barcelona's streets, the romantic ambiance of Parisian cafes – these moments provided a space for my thoughts to breathe and for new ideas to gently surface.
Sometimes, the most creative thing an artist can do is to step away from their work. This summer provided that necessary distance, allowing me to return to my studio with fresh eyes and a renewed sense of focus. I'm excited to dive back into my canvases with a clearer vision of what I want to explore and accomplish next.
We stopped in beautiful San Sebastian on our way to Barcelona!
